Yes. Medicare Part B will fund hospital beds to use at home when it is medically necessary. However, to get coverage you would need a doctor’s order and physician documentation stating that your condition is in need of an hospital bed. Medicare will pay 80 percent of the cost of your home hospital bed if the documentation is medically necessary. The 20% may be covered by your secondary insurance or out of pocket. Medicare pays for a semi-electric bed, but an upgrade to a full electric bed is possible for "out of pocket."
