"Custom Wheelchairs: Mixing Art and Science for Special Needs"
Posted by Michael Russo on
Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) wheelchairs aren't like regular electric chairs. They're made special for people with certain disabilities. Experts called Assistive Technology Professionals (or ATPs) make sure each wheelchair fits the person just right. They look at how the person moves, where they live, what they do every day, and how they get around.
These special chairs are for people with conditions like cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, or injuries to the brain or spine.
These wheelchairs have high-tech controls, special seats, help with pressure so it's comfortable, and other features for medical needs.
