Watch-PAT100 System
As an innovative leader in the treatment of patients suffering from sleep-related breathing disorders we have recently added a new technology for portable home testing services. The Watch-PAT100, by Itamar Technologies, is a non-invasive, FDA approved device for patient-friendly at-home diagnostic evaluation.
The Watch-PAT100 provides a new screening, diagnostic, treatment assessment and patient follow-up possibilities in the medical management of sleep-related breathing disorders. The Watch-PAT100 opens new clinical avenues for the practice of sleep medicine. The Watch-PAT100 offers physicians and the millions of undiagnosed sufferers of obstructive sleep apnea a new option for ambulatory, patient-friendly, unattended first line diagnostic evaluation of sleep related breathing disorders.
The Watch-PAT100 is a self-contained device that is worn on the wrist and uses a non-invasive finger mounted pneu-optical probe to measure the PAT signal. The recorded signals are stored in a removable memory card in the device to be downloaded to a computer for automatic analysis utilizing proprietary algorithms. In addition to the PAT Signal, the Watch-PAT 100 records oxygen saturation and actigraphy. A fourth channel, pulse rate, is derived from the PAT Signal.
The results from a Watch-PAT100 study have been proven to highly correlate to the sensitivity and specificity of a traditional lab-based polysomnogram. Each sleep study report is carefully interpreted by a board certified sleep physician.
